Midsalip is blessed with many natural attractions.   The renowned wild species of eagle – a most rare majestic national treasure, the Philippine Eagle – is found in Midsalip particularly in the jungles of barangay Dakayakan.  In order to sustain their existence, 600 hectares of forestal/timberland has been secured for them, guarded by a team of local  volunteers who had been oriented by “Bantay Kalikasan” to help ensure that the area is protected from any man-made destruction or activity (such as logging, kaingin, or hunting) that may threaten or drive them away.  Right now four birds are being monitored – the male and female parents and two offsprings.  In the forest of a sitio in its neighboring Barangay Pisompongan,  a Philippine Hawk was sighted, but its nesting ground have yet to be established.
